The Last Sacred Mile

Tour for the Jubilee 2025

If you’re lucky enough to be in Italy during the 2025 Jubilee, don’t miss the opportunity  to walk the final mile of a pilgrimage route dating back to 1300, when Pope Bonifacio VIII announced the first Holy Year.

The walk starts at the Basilica of Sant’Agostino – one of Rome’s oldest Renaissance churches – housing Caravaggio’s Madonna of the Pilgrims, a remarkable painting that beautifully embodies the spirit of the Jubilee and emphasizes the deep connection between “human and divine”.

From there, stroll down the historic Via dei Coronari, named after the shops that once sold sacred items like rosaries (corone), cherished by pilgrims that were hoping for a blessing at the end of their journey.

As you continue, you’ll cross the iconic Ponte Sant’Angelo, drawing closer and closer to St. Peter’s Basilica.

Here, your pilgrimage culminates with the opportunity to pass through one of the four Holy Doors: a symbolic entry that completes this profound experience.

Led by one of our expert guides, you’ll gain a deep understanding of what this path would have been like for pilgrims centuries ago.
