This popular italian drink has its origins in Veneto, land of prosecco. Its story goes back to 1800, during the Austrian-Hungarian domination of Venice. The Austrians found local wines too strong and started to dilute them with a splash of seltzer. Hence the name Spritz, from the Austrian verb “spritzen” which means “to spray”.
In Venice, spritz is much more than just a simple drink: it’s a religion, a tradition that enriches social relations.
Our SPRITZ TOUR is a journey within the italian social habits that will cheerfully introduce you to our own idea of aperitivo, rich of yummy food bites. Get ready to taste three different types of spritz that will let you travel without moving, from Venice to Padova and then Milan.
Meet your guide in Piazza della Rotonda, outside the Pantheon. Walk towards Piazza di Pietra and stop for your first spritz, served with warm eggplant balls, while enjoying a stunning view of the temple of Hadrian. As the sun lowers and spreads its golden light on every corner of the city, continue your roman passeggiata and reach Piazza delle Coppelle, a tiny romantic square surrounded by bars and restaurants. Have your second spritz while tasting rosemary focaccia with mortadella mousse. The last few steps of your tour will lead you to one of the most beautiful squares in the world: Piazza Navona, where you will fill your eyes with the astonishing beauty of Bernini’s fountain while drinking your third spritz, paired with roasted potatoes and bruschetta with burrata cheese and italian prosciutto.
NOTE: vegan, vegetarian, kosher & gluten free options available on request.
